I think its really normal to be scared I am 10 months out and ave gone from 387 to 217 in 10 months. I am also scared to regain so i watch my weight every few days to make sure nothing has gone up and tickled when i drop a couple pounds. Now i was drinking coffee from a place which isnt going to happen any more becuase it made me dump and get dizzy but we all learn dont we.. Jus****ch what you eat and exercise ad you will be ok. i even ride my bike 5 days a week and walk Not much for weight lifting but wish the loose skin would tighten but dont think alot will because of how big I use to be...

jeez, i feel like a super fatty compared to what you girls weigh! my lowest was 152. this morning 161, this evening 167. my weight goes up and down so much i think its bipolar! i have epilepsy and have had a ton of RH issues lately. as far as diet i DO NOT eat anything white. but i can for sure eat a ton more than in the first year and a half. i was doing zumba twice a week and walking 3 times a week but that has come to a halt for now. still working 40 hours as a chef, so i get alot of movement but that regain is killer!!!

My 2 year anniversary is Nov 11.  I identify with just about every post!   I did go through terrible fear of regain which caused me to jump on the scale daily.  So my therapist asked me if my goal was to drive myself crazy.  Of course not!    Well, how is it working for you?  It's driving me CRAZY!!!!

We both agree that my body has reached it's set point (she had some medical definition for it) weight.  My body likes this weight.  It's a little bit of an effort to gain.  And a little bit of an effort to lose.  My clothes are my best friend.  They will tell me if I am gaining.

So now I am remembering YEARS ago when it was somehow okay to move the elastic waists.  And all the little decisions about clothes.... because I was powerless over what my body was doing.

I do attend OA.  And I do know that this is one day at a time.  So today, my clothes are comfortable.  On top of that I rode my bike to work and back (60 mins total), and I pushed hard.  So I am relaxed about having enjoyed a treat.  And I am confident my clothes will fit nicely tomorrow.  Pretty much, as long as I get in good exercise 3 out of 7 days.... I'm in a good space and pretty darn happy with a good appetite and healthy food choices ( protein first, etc...).

Then I start to worry about the winter - my traditional time to pack on the pounds.  Doing some serious looking around for an exercise/sport/activity I can do that I will enjoy as much as bike riding!

I do think I'm not absorbing fats (although my diet is pretty low in fat) - and I think I'm still malabsorbing.  If I was still doing the 1500 cal per day I'd sure still be losing.  The bike riding really kicked up my appetite.    I'm happy with my set point  weight - so all is okay.  (I think!)

ya know you are right it's hard to gain more than a pound or two and it's hard to lose more than a pound or two..

I hang out mostly at 136-138....  wow clarity here..

thanks for the post!

Count me in too!  I weigh every day and bounce between numbers.  I saw my lowest weight for ONE day, ONE.  That was it.  Then I gained up to where I am now (about 3 lbs).  My doctor recently told another patient that she can give herself a two pound bounce limit.  I give myself five but seem to bounce between two, so maybe he knows what he's doing, lol.   I would be in terrible trouble if I had to replace my wardrobe now (I've turned into somewhat of a clothes horse).  So I get you ... but the good thing is we know what to do if we seem the numbers start to creep up .. we just can't be complacent about it.

two pounds?  I can do that with a session of potty... 5 seems way more realistic to me.

wow...you ladies are veterans! i'm barely 6mos out and im feeling very down about my progress. I started very heavy...421. Was 369 morning of surgery...i now weight 280. The weight loss is great...but 280 is STILL a lot, and at 6mos out I feel like this is about as much as I'm going to lose.

I'm also feeling hungry and find myself able to eat more...this is so terrifying to me. I'm scared to fail at this, but why am I feeling so hungry? am I really hungry or is it head hunger? i remember when eating 2 bites of a banana was very trying...now I can finish a whole banana and still want another one...this is scaring me to bits and I have no idea what to do...

have I already failed?!

you have not failed... we all feel that way.

IMO we just need to follow the rules and make new habits.

when you feel hungry do you drink first?
