I am going through the process to be approved for gastric bypass surgery. My surgeon doesn't have a pre op diet or anything but he did tell me to try and loose as much weight as possible before the surgery. I know you have to supplment and have lots of protien. Is almased ok to after surgery? And does anyone use it now? Thanks

It's an unflavored soy protien powder. It says its all natural and non gmo.
I got unflavored so I could add it to different things and I don't like the flavored ones. Is this one ok though?

I googled it.  It has more calories than many protein powders and also more sugar.  You might not be able to tolerate that much sugar after surgery, but it might be all right.

It also seems really expensive.  I found it on drugstore.com for 26.99 for just ten servings, while you can get 17 servings of Unjury for just 19.90 (and only 100 calories and 3 grams sugar per serving) or 28 servings of Chike for 48.50 (190 calories in that one but only 4 grams sugar).

Thanks Kelly! I googled unjury and will try that! Can I buy it in a store or do I have to order it online?

I don't think I've ever seen it in stores but I haven't really looked, either.  You could probably call their customer service  number and they could tell you if any stores in your area carry it.

I have only even seen Unjury on line. My Nut gave me a bunch of envelopes and they come on your food tray at the hospital (or at least at mine) and I went online and ordered a sample packet which was 2 of each flavor for very little money. I also like the Ensure high protein shakes. They have 25g protein and little calories/fat/sugar. I also really like the Adkins Advantage. esp the strawberry /banana but its hard to find. Good luck,

bariatric choice will also send you samples.  they have a place you can actually click on.  Wow they sent me a bag full of different calcium chews and some vitamens and some protein puddings and protein broth.  It didn't take long to get it either.  I will use up all these calcium chews and order more.  they are really good.  Unjury doesn't have any samples but i did order the trial pack and i asked at my bariatric appt. yesterday if they have any samples of proteins and she gave me 3 or 4 unjury ones.  Then i went to the vitamin shoppe and asked them if they had any protein samples and got some there also. lol  I filled out a form from celebrate also but haven't heard a thing from them.  tonight i am going to eat some of my pumpkin/SF pudding with some vanilla or unflavored unjury in it and see how it goes.
so check those places out.
