Hi, everyone. Let me ask were you ever told that you should put at least 2 to 3 hours in between calcium and iron?

Yes.  Because calcium blocks the absorption of iron.  If you take them together, you will absorb the calcium but not the iron.

Unless it's a very small amount of calcium, like under 300 mg, which is why many multivitamins have both calcium and iron.  They typically only have a very small amount of calcium, so you can still absorb that iron.

As you know, I am all for checking everything!  Plus I think it's good to understand the why of things.  Not just that you should separate your calcium and iron but why.  Knowing the why lets you make the best decisions for yourself.

Also as Kelly so aptly puts, check to make sure that you are taking the right dosage.  To get the calcium I need, I take 6 pills a day.  for a while I only took three because I did not read the label closely enough.

Good Luck
