I eat them occasionally but they don't do anything nutritionally for you. A good snack would be beef jerky, some nuts, or some hi protein cereal if you want some carbs.

Rice cakes are extremely high in carbs.  I would love to eat them but don't want to.  For me a substitue are soy crisps.  They remind me of the little rice cakes but have a lot more protein and less carbs.

Lightly roasted edamamed is also good.  You will find what works for you.

Good Luck.

There are 7 carbs in a rice cake and only 35 calories! My Dr oked them and I like them because they give me a little crunch without totally messing up my days intake! I like them with PB, tuna, cheese, any kind of protein really! I'm allergic to soy so soy crips and such aren't an option for me. Rice cakes aren't dense or heavy and theybreak down easy so they're not hard on the stomach!

You'll have to decide for yourself if it is OK for you to eat them or not.  I like them and I eat them once in a while but I normally do not buy them (or other crunchy carby snacky stuff) because I have a hard time eating just one or two.  I can easily go through a whole bag by the end of the day (not all at one time) and then of course I'm getting too many carbs and essentially empty calories and not enough protein.  My partner likes them and buys them sometimes, in which case I try to stay away from them.  Sometimes when he is eating them I will ask for one but then he'll just finish the bag so there are none left for me to keep eating.
