Anybody out there who is a few years out?
I'm looking for new OH friends. I had several when I first joined and had surgery in '08. But they are all gone! LOL I was on the fast track back then! Then I slowly but surely fell of the track , have gained a few back which jolted me into reality that I have to get back on track. Anyway, if you check out my profile (I had a lot more to say about it on my latest post), and feel like we might have something in common, or have some advice to offer, feel free to add me or comment. Thanks!
I don't exercise much (bad knees), so I try to be diligent about the MAJORITY of what I eat so I can still have some kind of small treat each day (either sweets or crunchy carbs). Mostly, when the weight starts to creep up and I hit my self-imposed 5-pound gain threshold, I increse my protein just a bit and drop as many of the non-dairy carbs as I can ****ep those because dairy provides a significant amount of my protein****il those 5 pounds come back off. (Unfortunately, staryoing on that diet AFTER those pounds come off somehow does NOT get me any lower than that...
)
I gained a couple of pounds while I was on medical leave the past 8 weeks, so I am getting ready to go through that process again (AFTER a special dinner on Thursday, LOL).

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Hi again Lora,
Thanks for the input. I like that you keep a close eye and don't let yourself go over 5 lbs. That's an area I am now better about. I didn't have a scale, so it was easy to miss the 13 pounds I gained (knew my jeans were getting snug but had no idea it was that far off!). So I went and got a good scale that reads to the ounce. And I weigh and I do what I need to make the scale go the right way! LOL Anyway, thanks again! Nice getting to "meet" you all.

I had surgery a few months after you. You know what you need to do to get back on track. Track every bite that goes in your mouth, make the right choices most of the time, exercise, take your vitamins. There is no "magic" to it. But most importantly, you have to believe you are worth the effort.
You can do it!!

Thank you Laura! I have started using the food/nutrition tracker on here and it's very eye opening! That's my biggest hurdle. And I need to get more excercise. But really, getting in more protein and less carbs is my biggest challenge. No more just a little of this or just this once type thinking. It just seems to lead me to just all the time. LOL Anyway, thanks again. You guys are all great...
