Android Phone users: Would you help me with some ideas?

In my day job I'm a lead java developer.  I'm thinking of tinkering in developing some apps for Android in my spare time... and one of them is a vitamin tracker/reminder app.  So.. would you use something like this and what would you like to see in it?

Challenge question:

How would this replace my reminder in my calendar on my Droid to take my vitamins every morning?

What I had in mind was a food tracker of sorts, but for vitamins.  So you could put in your dosage and how often to take it and it would pop a reminder in your status bar.  It would unclutter your calendar from reminders to take your vitamins.  Also you could indicate in the app that you did take your vits and then you can look back historically to get an idea of how compliant you've been with your vitamins.  I had also thought it could have a place to enter lab numbers possibly.

I also have plans to extend it to be a tracker that would customizable for a WLS patient to track things that are specific to us, but not covered in regular food/exercise tracking systems.

I would applaud this effort!  I'm a droid user.

What about a reminder/check list for vitamins and supplements (protein included) and liquid/water intake?

 Definately!

I'll also be looking for folks who want to test it out in the early stages, etc.

it'll be a little while.. I'm just dipping my toes in learning the android framework, but I think this app will be the first one i work on.

The other I'm planning is a menu planner with kitchen/pantry inventory and auto-grocery list generator

I would definately be interested in the menu planner/shopping list app for the Droid.

There's a couple on the Android market now, but they don't do what I want them to do.  I don't want have to wonder if I am out of cream of mushroom soup, or whatever.  The idea is that you enter your usual ingredients and then indicate what you have in stock in your fridge and pantry.  Then you enter your recipes including the ingredients you already keyed in.  As you "prepare" a recipe either the system auto-deducts an item from your pantry, or you specify as being out of it (like flour, or sugar, butter, etc)... Now, when you plan your menu for the following week, it would compare the recipes you planned to your inventory and build the shopping list of what you DON'T have on hand.

Going even more fancy, i was thinking it could analyze what you have on hand and suggest recipes you have entered that you have everything for.

I think it's a great idea especially if it includes water/protein intake & reminders. I would have greatly appreciated this my first six months out

Oooooo!  I like the "menu planner with kitchen/pantry inventory and auto-grocery list generator" idea!!!!

I like any phone app that thinks for me.  My mind is half-shot anyway.
