For those that have trouble eating re-heated leftovers?

I noticed that I have problems eating leftovers. The food will go down really well, the day its cooked, but the next day re-heated, umm, not so much. I have tried reheating really slowly and still doesn't go down as well. I was wondering, for those who have problems with eating re-heated food, are you able to eat food that was cooked and re-frozen?

I am wanting to cook up some lean taco meat and freeze it in individual servings, but am wondering if I would be able to eat it? I mean I guess, I could always try and if it doesn't work I could feed it to the family. Are there any foods that you have found go down easier the 2nd time around??

Hi, did you over nook it?  Sometimes when you over reheat foods they tend to become dry and not as moist as the day before.  That's the only thing I can think of.

If it's leftovers I have cooked, I do ok.  However, restaurant leftovers and buffets really do a number on me    I've always believed that it's the bacteria and/or the fact that the food is not freshly prepared and then served!

Actually, I only re-heat it to take the chill off of it. I don't even make it hot. I am talking about foods that I make, not resturants.

i have done taco meat very well..i always evern pre op, made alot and put in sandwich size ziplock baggies works great...when i re heat any type of left over in the microwave, i put a lid loosly on it and take my hand and run water over my hand then sprinkle the water from my hand over the food...sometimes i do a couple of sprinkles....makes the stuff more moist..some things just done re heat very well...but you just have to try different things..
good luck

Chicken, eggs, mostly bare protiens. I have tried slow re-heat, moistening, I just serve the fam those left overs. Restaruant left overs never go anywhere but to my dog and cats. Karen

I only do it with stuff I have made that was very moist to begin with, mainly a variation of chicken marsala...that's my main meal that I haven't grown sick of yet.  I never freeze, just usually have a cooking session on Sunday afternoons for the week's lunches.

I too have problems eating left overs.   It doesn't seem to matter wether it is heated on stove, oven or microwave.   Some times is okay and some  times not.   It even happens with soups sometimes.   Funny we just talked about this in my Support Group last night.   It has been a big pain, and hard to plan around, but I just keep trying and some days it works and some days it doesn't.    Good luck, and if a left over doesn't work today try it again another day.   Each day is new with a new you.

I have trouble with leftovers, too. I thinkit's moisture. I can eat reheated soups and stews but definitely not meats. as a matter of fact, I can only eat chicken while it is still warm. It seems that it loses its moisture as it cools. But I'm not sure it that is REALLY what the problem is.

I have trouble with leftovers too. I do like to cook food ahead of time and freeze it. I'll do ground beef with onions and seasonings and then freeze I can use it later. I haven't had a problem with this at all. I tend to under cook it a little, just past pink. That way when it cooks in whatever dish I'm making it doesn't get over done. It usually goes into spaghetti sauce, tater tot hotdish (minus the tater tots for me) or something that has some "juice" to it.
