I drink between 120-150 oz of water a day easily. I could probably drink way more than that but I cut myself off because frankly peeing every 20 minutes gets to be a bit much.
I don't touch juice.
I do have a Diet Pepsi a day and also 2-4 cups of coffee. So most days I can get in almost 200 oz of fluid.

Thats LESS than half the recommended minimum amount of water you should be drinking. Yes, drinking more water would likely be helpful. One trick that helps with both hydration and keeping you from overeating is "water loading". This involves drinking as much water as you comfortably can about 20-30 minutes befor your meal. This helps keep you hydrated during your meal, so you won't be thirst and drink too much. Secondly, the water gives you a "full feeling" and you'll likely consume less. Please eat your protein first though. My surgeon also has a rule about drinking coffee or other caffeinated drinks. If you consume an 8 oz cup of coffee, you need to add twice that amount in water that day. That mean you need to drink 16 oz more water than your daily minimum. DAVE

I get between 80 and 100 ounces a day, usually. Why are you having trouble getting in more than 32 ounces? I don't know if getting more would help you lose the last 25 pounds or not, but it would help prevent kidney stones and give you more energy and help all your organs work properly. Honestly, I would be more concerned about those things than 25 pounds at this point.

You and I are surgery twins. Absolutely take in more fluids! I find that if I have less than 15 cups of water per day, my body hangs on to weight and I am hungry and crave salty carbs. If I get in around 21 cups per day, everything works MUCH better.
I walk around with a Camelbak bottle that holds 3 cups all day long. I have an s-biner (like a carabiner, but shaped like an s) with colored rings on it, and every time I refill I move a ring from one side to the other. It helps me keep track of how much I've had and how much I still need.
I also agree with Dave about the water loading - it's a big help both in reducing thirst mistaken as hunger, and in staying hydrated.

MY DR. WANTED ME TO STAY 2 MORE DAYS. I SAID HECK NO! A STORM IS COMMING AND I SURE DIDN'T WANT TO BE STUCK IN THE HOSPITAL! I've done as much as 180 ounces per day (program I was with in New Mexico that had that as their minimum requirement daily) and it's do-able. You'll feel better if you get in more water, and your body, skin and digestion will be better for it. You'll have more energy and if you're still trying to lose it will help with that. I am convinced maintenance is only achievable with this surgery with lots of water intake and not getting dehydrated. I feel so much better when I've had enough liquids. You don't have to just do water - crystal light, tea, decaf coffee and a bunch of other liquids can be counted towards your daily total. Your body will hang on to fat you want to get rid of if you're dehydrated. 24 ounces a day isn't enough. I found 64 wasn't enough for me and I fainted. Had to up it to 86 ounces per day to remain hydrated.
