Just mad

I have been pretty MIA on these boards for the past week or more.  I am just really mad at this current stall.  It is long, never ending and nothing I do to break it works. So I have stayed away to avoid getting upse****ching everyone else lose while I sit here and stay the same only 5 months out!

I will be 6 months out on Nov 1st.  I have lost 70 lbs since surgery on May 2nd.  I am currently 166 and I would like to get to 145.  Is it possible that my body is done losing weight?  How will I know when I am done?  I really need new cloths and I don't want to go out and buy a bunch of medium shirts and size 8 pants (current size) just to lose another 20lbs and have it all be too big.  I have NO, NONE, ZERO winter cloths that fit.

So, could I be done? I have not lost a pound in more then 3 weeks, longer I think.  It's been so long I can't even remember!

I had GBP on 12/27/2010.  I JUST started losing a little weight again after a 4-1/2 MONTH stall!  I, as well, thought I might be done losing weight, and I was mad, since I trained for 3 months to complete a half-marathon in September!  I did not lose ONE OUNCE during all of that training!

Give your body a chance to catch up with the weight loss you have already achieved!

Of course you can reach your goal.  You are only 5 months out.  Plenty of time left in your window.
As long as you eat fewer calories then you burn you will lose weight.
As far as clothes go, just head down to your nearest Goodwill or other thrift store.  A new wardrobe can be had for pennies.  And if money is really an issue check out Freecycle or Craigslist's free section.  I can't tell you how many clothes I have gotten for free this way.  I have more clothes then I know what to do with.

Go to Goodwill or other thrift shop for a few clothes that fit! You will be amazed at the nice stuff you can find for $4.00

Lisa, I am so sorry. Yes, i can see why you are PISSED. I am a few months behind you so I can't give you any amazing words of wisdom b/c I know this day too shall come for me BUT trust that this too will pass. You are too soon out for the malabsorbtion to have stopped. It may have slowed down for the moment, but I totally think that you are NOT finished....If you can quit thinking about the stall and just turn your head in a different direction and just live life that would alleviate the stress(even tho it is so darn tempting to get on that scale - LOL!!) What about making a conscious choice to forget about the stall for say...3 weeks...and then see what happens. Give yourself a deadline to address this issue again and in the meantime you can let it go b/c you will deal with it then. I bet at the end of that time you will be pleasantly suprised. Also, may I say that you being is a size 8 is freaking awesome...I am totally jealous. Lastly, go get some clothes from the Goodwill. It is a good cause and they need the money and you can have cute clothes at least for a little bit. Buy clothes and stay warm...... You have been such an inspiration to me...this is just one more challenge and an opportunity to rise above. Just remember this email and feel free to cut and paste the same response back to me when I hit a stall....LOL!! Easier said than done, I know.

One other thing to distract yourself from the issue is to not get on the scale for a whole month.  I know that will be so hard.

I am just past 1 year. I lost pretty steadily for the first 8 months and was near goal weight , then I quit losing for almost 3 months. When I finally lost again it was 8lbs in 1 week. I am now 4 lbs below my goal weight. I am weight lifting some, running some, but not everyday.

I watch what I eat, but I pretty much eat what my family eats, just much smaller portions always trying to finish my protein first, then veggies. I make sure that I eat within 1 hour of getting up and 2 snacks during the day usually with protein of some kind, but sometimes just a fruit or a veggie.

Stalls are normal...I know we hear and read that all the time....but they really are.

Find another use for your scale and stop letting that d****d thing dictate what kind of life you will
have today.

Here's some suggestions:

Paving stone in your driveway.

Target for your shotgun.

Patch a leak in your roof.

A windchime.

Boat Anchor.

If you don't like any of these, make up your own!!

You're doing fine; you just have to let your astonished little bod catch up with its new reality!

Good luck!
