Hey YOU..vitamins???
Well, I've had one multi, one dose of calcium, and my vitamin a.
I'll do my second multi and other dose of calcium in a little bit. I also need to do my magnesium oxide soon.
I take my iron a vitamin C at bedtime. And somewhere before bedtime I need to get my third dose of calcium in. I liked taking my calcium a lot more when I had some of the candy ones. Money is a little tight right now though and it's hard to justify the expense.

Yes I have taken my multi, calcium and B-12 (although not all at the same time). I am pre op though.
But I do have a silly question. At what stage am I able to take a pill vitamin post op? I'm reading a lot about chewable or dissolvable vitamins. Are those something I should get for the first few weeks out of surgery? I don't usually have a problem with pills, but my multi is somewhat of a horse pill, so is my calcium.

Depends...some have said they have come home from the hospital swallowing pills. I was told at my one month i could take my lexapro whole which is small...plus i can take my iron whole now (almost 3 months out) beings its not to big. I take my vit. b12 sublingual because they are so good like candy...lol and i take my d3 sublingual because its not bad tasting. My multi i take a chewable and i think i am going to continue that until i can find a multi that i can swallow..not sure i want to swallow a horsepill as i was never THAT good at taking meds...lol I take chewable calciums now but will start swallowing them soon also....
are those calcium citrate petites small? i would take them if they were small as the chewys are hurting my very bad teeth..lol.

they are shorter but just as thick if not thicker than the regulars, plus 3 is a dose instead of 2. they are what i've been taking but the next bottle i bought is the regulars which i'll be doing like every other dose with this week. i figured worst case scenario i cut them in half. i'll also be getting an extra 60 mg a day switching sizes, not a huge amount but not bad either!
I got "petites" at about 2 months out. Bad mistake. They are fat, and the one and only one I tried got stuck. Very painful for several minutes. I got Calcium Citrate/Magnesium/D capsules from Vitamin Shoppe, and they are great. They go down easily, although I have to take 7 or so a day to get in my doseage.
Many docs recommend chewables in the beginning and many people prefer to use them at least initially. Right after surgery, you may have some swelling around the opening between the pouch and small intestine and theroretically large pills could get stuck there. If they did get stuck there, they would not be stuck forever, they would dissolve fairly soon, but some people worry about them getting stuck.
The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery saysyou can take pills you swallow whenever you can tolerate them. Of course, you won't know if you can tolerate them or not until you try it. I had no trouble taking pills right after surgery (swallowed them the same day I had surgery, in fact) but you might want chewables instead of the big horse pills at least for the first few weeks.
