I have a good friend who I work with having her surgery next Wednesday and she is very excited.  We spoke about having surgery so close to the holidays and I think it is the BEST time to have this done.

Right after you have your procedure you are so strong and you have very little cravings and you are so strong to your commitment.  The further out you get the more you are able to "cheat" a bit.  I ate a few more pieces of candy then I would like to admit at Halloween so I am worried about the treats at Christmas.  I need to stay strong.

But those of you about to have surgery, you are choose a great time!  What a great way to start your new year, with a new life style!  So if any of you are waiting until after the holidays I would say WHY?  Do it now and have this awesome tool to assist you in the more tempting time of the year.

Actually I had mine on May 2, 2011 so not anywhere near the holidays but I wish I had done it around that time.  You have a perfect date!  Enough time before Christmas so you will feel good on Christmas eve and day, but still in that time when you won't feel hunger or cravings.  It will be good.  You will enjoy the holiday with out food and you will love it.  Of course it has it hard times, but just think how healthy you are going to be and how good you are going to look.

Thanks for the compliment.  I am really happy with my results, can't even believe it sometimes.

Thanks!!  Mine is 12/2.  I'm so ready, I already have changed my eating habits so much in the last few weeks.  I'm sure I'll miss the cookies and snacks at Christmas, but not as much as I'll love being able to shop in the ladies section at stores instead of the plus size section!  Not to mention being able to tie my shoes, do bathroom activities normally without turning into a contortionist.  Etc, etc etc.  I am so excited, slightly nervous, but more excited than anything!

Thanks for the great post!

My surgery is December 6th. I start my 2-week liquid diet 2 days before Thanksgiving, but I will be fine. I am diabetic and very insulin resistant, so i am used to restricting what I eat. I have lost almost 20 pounds and hope to lose 15-20 more on the liquid diet. Then perhpas the same before I go back to work. It will be so neat to return to work under 300 pounds. I will miss out on some things for Christmas, but just look what I gain in the summer. I am going to go camping at Village creek State park and rent a canoe. I cant fit in a canoe right now. I will also ride horses at Lake Livingston State Park. It will be so nice to get back the mobility my weight has taken away from me. Yea, i may be losing pounds, but I will be gaining freedom.
