Protein Drinks

Does anyone know of protein drinks that won't rob my pocketbook? It would be nice to have something with a little taste too. I am only into my 3rd class out of the required 12 classes. I am so afraid of not getting enough protein.
I like unjury chocolate and unflavored and body fortress chocolate (from WalMart). I just ordered a lot of samples, some of them are GROSS !!! Just trial and error :) If you search this site in the top right corner for free protein samples there are TONS of websites that are willing to send you free or just shipping samples. Good luck !

Thank you Mandy. I will make a trip to Walmart. I hope I am making the right decision with having this surgery done. I am afraid of being postponed due to the Protein levels. I realize it is a life change, but the horror stories I have come across make me a little nervous. I am just a bit of a worrier.

I personally like the Body Fortress Vanilla from Walmart and it is very reasonable compared to some. I always use the vanilla but mix different things (such as diet 25 calorie hot chocolate packets to make chocolate, SF syrups, SF spiced apple cider mix..makes a caramel apple type shake, frozen fruit in a blender, PB2, things like that)..
Hey Barbara, there are lots of different proteins out there. I probably tried 20 different kinds. I discovered I liked the powdered better than the ready to drink. Although I did like the Isopure smoothies, they are pretty tasty compared to the other ready to drink kind but they have a little bit more sugar.
I ordered a bunch of samples from vitalady.com, and had great success finding some I liked (and lots I didn't like!). My favorites are the Jay Robb Chocolate and the Syntrax Nectar Cappuccino. I mix them together with milk and ice in a blender and it really tastes pretty good (to me anyway).
You will find one you can tolerate, it just takes time. I have discovered that the protein does not cost anywhere near as much as my groceries, alcohol and eating out used to! Thank goodness, or I wouldn't be able to buy all the new clothes I need!!!

Unfortunately, you'll just have to experiment alot. I like J Robb and Isopure low carb powders better than ready to drink proteins. Like others, I add other flavors in and make smoothies, or add chocolate to room temp coffee to make a mochachinno.
Don't overstock on proteins as many people have posted here that they didn't care for the same brands after their surgeries. Fortunately, I didn't have this problem.
I also took my sister's advice, which was to never smell the protein powders. I put mine in a reusable cup with a lid, so I only taste them. It has worked very well for me.
Good luck on your journey,
Paula
