Frustrating Stomach Issues

I had my RNY about 6 weeks ago 10/10/11. Everything was fine then last Thursday I ate an egg and was fine for a few hours then had a noise in my stomach I got up to go to the bathroom and I didn't make it. This past week I have had trouble sleeping tossing and turning from about 2:30am to 4am and finally just get up. I scared to leave the house because I'm worried the stomach issues are going to hit when I'm out and not going to be near a bathroom. Sorry if this is TMI. If this has happened to someone please let me know what you did. Thank you

Do you know if it only happens after certain foods?

The first time it happened after I ate an egg. Yesterday it happened after I ate yogurt. I'm thinking it might be the dairy. I haven't ate cheese in a while but now I don't want to. The protein shake I'm drinking has milk and soy in it. I'm going to try 1 of those today and see if it messes up my stomach and if it does I guess I will have to find another protein drink. Do you recommend any non dairy protein drinks?

Any brand of shake that is 100% whey isolate is lactose free.  You just have ot mix it with water or soy milk, not regular milk.  But if it happened after an egg, then it's probably not lactose.  But you can try cutting out the lactose for a few days and see if it gets better.

Yes, it happened to me at about that same time.  I cannot remember what I ate that caused it.

To work around it I found the right iron.  It stopped things up just enough and in the evenings I take some chewable Fiber and everything works out in the morning, like clockwork.

I cannot forget the Fiber at night though or I cannot go.  LOL

Thank you. I'll ask the Dr. today about a different iron pill and about fiber. Thank you

My Dr. thinks I might have an infection. So hopefully my lab results come back quickly and thats all it is.

I take Nature's blend Ferrous Gluconate Iron

I was having similar problems the past few weeks, and after asking for advice here, I decided to stop dairy--and that was it! I swear I couldn't get 10 feet from a bathroom! I don't drink much milk, mainly in my shakes, but that 8 ounces a day was doing a number on my tummy. Cheese & yogurt don't seem to have the same effect.

Hope you figure it out.

Thank you Tammy. I'm stopping dairy right now also. All the milk I was drinking was in my protein shake. I hope my situations gets resolved soom. I cant deal with this much longer. :)
