meet up groups

Is there a easy way find a meet up group in my area?  I've been all over the site.  I have to sift through several groups . I can't find any. Can you help? I'm near Wilmington, North Carolina . Thanks!

Hello! :)  I'm actually not sure about this site, just because I'm so new to it also, but that said the hospital you're considering having surgery at may have resources and/or your physician might have some pointers?  My physician is actually the one that told me about this site . .  the hospital I will use is a "Bariatric Center Of Excellence" and has all kinds of helpful information and support groups . .  they've been wonderful and strongly encourage that you attend as many support groups as you'd like to, even before you've made your decision about surgery . .  I haven't quite made it to any yet, but I figure it's a way to connect, ask questions and learn.  I'm in the process of meeting with counselors and their dietitians at this point . .    your hospital should have a website and resources too, but if not I would also try to Google or search it i.e. "Bariatric Support Groups in Wilmington, NC" and see what you get?  Hope this helps and hope you find something great! 

 yes they do , I was just hoping to fing a group outside of the hospital.  I've been to it.
