How much question...
Hi guys. I am 9 months out and just wondering how much is generally ok to eat, or how much others can eat at this stage. I still measure out just half a cup of food because that was my surgeons last instructions 3 months ago, but I find myself hungry after just a half cup. Is this pretty normal? I go back to see him in a couple weeks, so I will ask him then, but I was just wondering what others thought and could eat.
I never weighed my food but I'm sure I was eating more than half a cup at 9 months! You should be all healed by now and have a sensation of satiety to guide you on how much to eat - one forkful too many will probably make you vomit - it still does me!
My tip would be to eat one forkful LESS than would make you feel full! Many of us get signals - nose running, hiccups etc when we have had enough.

I was eating more like a cup of food at that time.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
My doc' s rule was 1/4 cup 1-3 mnths, up to 1/2 cup by 6 months out, 3/4 cup at 9 months out and one cup to one and a quarter by one year out and thereafter. I've stuck by that rule pretty much ever since. Obviously, you'll get more soup in your pouch than steak, but dense foods are generally about 3/4 of a cup by 9 months out. See if that isn't a better amount for you. I can do more than a cup of soup at a time, but that's my limit for denser foods.
