I go in on Monday for my scope and an ultrasound on my legs for blood clots.  Part of my pre-op work up.

Question:  how long after being knocked out for the scope, can I drive?

Generally, they will want someone to drive you home.  So I was told the next day.

Grrrr. I was afraid you guys would say that. I have the scope at 8am and the doppler at 10am, and was really hoping I'd be "with it" enough to drive myself home after the doppler.

Even if you're feeling pretty good you'll still be legally 'impaired' and your reaction times, etc. will be messed up.  You definitely won't be able to drive that day.

I hope it all goes well.

Sorry but you will need a driver. You will be pretty loopy for several hours. After my endescope last month - I went home and passed out for 4 hours.

I hand mine Tuesday and would not have even been awake 2 hours later for a doppler. (Maybe I am more sensitive than some)

My test was scheduled for 9am but was not done until 9:40am. I got into recovery at 10:40. I could not have made it an appointment 2 hours after my posted time.
I'm not trying to be negative but I hope you don't experience any delays.

My husband drove me home.  I slept on the one hour drive then slept the rest of the day, stayed awake about 3 hours and then slept all night.

I think you will definitely need a driver.

Best of luck!!
