Don't know if you watch biggest loser or not, but a few weeks back they had a dr. on there talking about the brain's pleasure center response to food and how it varied in normal weight people compared to obese people.  Obese people (or I'm guessing those of us formerly obese that are still struggling with using food for emotional gain) get a greater yearning for food than normal weight people, but then it takes more of the foods to get the same amount of pleasure resposne from our brains than people that don't have weight problems.

So then that leaves us that just can't get the same response because of our reduced capacity to fill that pleasure center to realize that the food isn't going to cut it and we have to stimulate that pleasure center of the brain in other ways.

I made myself a NSA/fat free ice cream sundae a couple weeks ago and not only did I not enjoy the flavor, it gave me no pleasure.  I kind of realized then that it just wasn't worth it to eat it.  Unfortunately I've figured out that sucking on chocolate makes me feel good...  working on replacing that with exercise right now.

Replacing chocolate with exercise... yeah, that would not quite work for me!
