Can I claim this?
I am been MIA for the last few weeks, sorry! I had a bought of major depression. I hear it is sometimes normal after these surgeries. I feel better now. I also think I was becoming cross addicted to the Vicodin, but I got off that a few weeks ago. I was taking it for knee pain, but I am finally having my knee taken care of on Dec 15th with a little surgery. Can't wait to have no more pain in a month!
Anyway, I have a questions.
My heaviest recorded weight was Feb 23, 2010 when I went to the doctor and was 256 lbs. When I had surgery I was 236 lbs since I tried to lose some myself before I had the procedure. Today I weighed in at 153 which means that I have lost 103 lbs from my heaviest weight, but only 83 since surgery.
So when people ask me "how much weight have you lost" can I say 100 lbs? Or should I say 83?
LOL, the stupid things I worry about now.

The correct answer is you're a 100lbs lighter!
I had my knee surgery 11-7-11. Save the Vicodin, you'll need it a few days post-op. I'm going through 2x wk therapy and exercises 2xday. It's painful, but ice packs help.

I had a torn medial menscius in left knee. They did it orthoscopic under anesthesia (due to airway issues). They also did a repair to left of kneecap and some "clean-up". The physical therapy is helping a lot.
Exactly what I am having done too. Funny thing is, this knee has hurt and hurt since July, I have had to go to the doctor and they take out the swelling with a huge neddle twice. Then, poof, as soon as the surgery was set and approved the knee got better! WTH? But I am going to have the procedure done anyway. I lknow there is damage, if I get it fixed them I can use the knee more and hope that I do not have the injury to the extent that I had it the last time. I think my left knee is starting to act up too :( How did this all happen AFTER I lost weight? That is what is so funny to me.
So you still have pain when you use it, but that is going away right? Soon you will have no pain and will be able to have full use of the knee right? If not then what was the point of the surgery right?

The pain is from the swelling from the surgery, which takes a while to go away. I was happy when the pain where the torn muscle was finally went away! I still have some pain and swelling as I'm getting therapy...which is normal because of not using those muscles for many months! Ice packs are a relief.
I would say 100.

WTG Lisa!!! I would definitely say 100. That is quite an accomplishment. My hightest weight pre-op was 282. I am proud to say that 5 weeks out of surgery, I am 218! That's a whopping 64 lbs. Right before surgery I was at 242 so post op I have lost 24 lbs. I am so proud of myself and of you and everyone else who have made the choice to be healthy!
