Thanks! Most times I do just that..just didn't want her to feel that she was abnormal and not doing something right!

I understand that we are all on different plans and that each person has a different capacity as they heal but there are SOME...nay a LOT of similarities between all the different surgical plans.  The OP asked if being able to eat larger quantities at 2 weeks out was unusual...so people are responding with what is "usual" for them.  I don't think that any one is purposely trying to make the OP feel abnormal...they are just responding and stating what is normal FOR THEM.

In any...most...dayum near every Internet forum that I've ever participated on...there's always one thing that users/posters should keep in mind.  When you ask a question soliciting feedback/suggestions from other posters, prior to clicking that submit button...PLEASE PUT YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES ON AND BRACE YOURSELF FOR THE RESPONSES.  Not everything will be worded in a PC manner.  Not everyone is gonna grab your hand and rub your back and say "baby it's alright".  Some people are gonna scold you.  Some people are gonna be down right nasty and rude...unfortunately...that's life.  Luckily...on OH (well at least on the RNY section) I haven't seen any nasty/rude folks.  Take the suggestions/responses that work for you...and bypass the rest.

Not asking for anyone to hold anyones hand, but Some of these responses were not just about what their "usual" is..infact yours down right told her she was eating too much and what she needed to do. And last I checked we're not doctors..and that's the advice we should be taking. Regardless..I will take the advice of Sin Kim and skip over things like this because it's not worth the frustration. I'm very thankful for the suggestions/tips I get off of the site and will take them in and if it worries me or I question it..I know where to turn. Thanks!

something is odd here. You need to immediately talk to your surgeon's RN and tell them what you've said here.  Surgeon may not have given you a hole tight enough, or somthing else may be going on that only a CT Scan will help to reveal.  I'm 5 weeks out and I absolutely cannot consume eggs and toast.  Talked to doctor's office while your surgery is still fresh enough to modify.

Their surgery was four years ago. You're a little late to the party.

Party would only have water and broth. No loss that...  -should have looked at the date, rookie mistake.

Not a problem. It's great to read and learn from old posts. Just don't expect people to read a reply -- they're likely long gone.

Don't be afraid to start a new thread. Someone will be interested.

I'm 6 days pre op from RnY and I find that I'm having hunger pains. I'm eating more than a 1/4 more like 1/2 cup cup of food at a sitting and find it isn't enough. Today I even had a bit of mashed potato and ground beef - total of 1tsp full. I'm a little concerned why I'm doing this and feel that I want it. I'm eating a bit more than was asked. I have no full signs, vomiting or any side effects from this either. Has anyone experienced this?
