Goal reached in one day short of 9 months
Today, December 7, 2011 one day before my 9th month I have reached my goal. For me the journey has been good and all I did was follow the suggestions from my surgeon. Of course I always am on OH getting more helpful tips, so I want to thank you all. I have posted about a dozen questions in the last nine months and not one of them had been ignored....someone out there has either experienced the same as me or many have been able to point me in the right direction to get the answer.
I guess I came in as a lightweight, wanting to lose 100 pounds and with a bmi of 41. I have stated a couple times that my goal was not to be skinny and a size 6, I wanted to be healthy, be able to move and enjoy my two little granddaughters and I get to do that today. Two weeks ago I had my granddaughters and we went for a walk and ended up in a place where we had to walk up about 70 stairs....first I thought the two year old won't be able to do that many stairs but the 8 year old was just begging to do it. I got to realize that I could walk up the stairs and if little Natalee couldn't make it, I could carry her. We all made it.........what a blessing to be able to do so many things because of the gift of RNY and the educated people (surgeons and you guys/gals). Bless you all this holiday season..........

Oh, Kathee!! Congratulations to you!! Great job following the rules and using your tool.
I am 3 months today...and have maintained the same average each month...so if I continue, I will reach goal into my 8th month, just like you. Its very exciting and inspiring to see someone with around the same goals (I have 106 lbs total to lose) reach that magic number and feel great.
One day your grandkids will appreciate what you did for yourself and for them!!
Take care.
Today is my nine-month surgiversary and I've lost 102 pounds, which puts me at the 135-140 goal my surgeon set. I have a hard time believing it. I feel my outsides finally match my insides after years of therapy, 12-step meetings , and self exploration. What a miraculous gift! I wish you good health and continued success in the coming year.
