I will be 3 months post op from RNY next thursday, and on that day I will be in surgery to remove my ovaries.  Which, in turn will throw me into surgical menopause.  Has anyone else out there had this procedure done post op?  I'm curious how it could possibly affect my weight loss.  I have lost a little over 40 pounds since my surgery, and want to continue on this road.
Would love to hear from someone who has been here.

Thanks.

I had a hysterectomy in 2003 and they left my ovaries. At that time I weighed 167 lbs. The resident put a trans vaginal tape in me. My ovaries were damaged and they stopped producing hormones immediately. I had hormone levels taken right before surgery and after and they went from normal to nothing. I have used a Femring (estrogen replacement) since 2003. I weighed 167 lbs. until 2005. You won't gain weight from having your ovaries removed. Tri

thank you.  I was just thinking that perhaps the fluctuation in estrogen might have an impact.
