I thought when I lost a good chunk of weight, like 50 lb's I might start to have the cold hands and feet everyone talks about but, Im on day 5 and Im FREEZING! I know its cold out but, my thermostat is set to 68, I have on socks and slippers, pj's and a bathrobe. Im eating plenty of protein too. 80+ a day. Hot tea helps a litlle but not for long. Tea or hot coffee used to make me sweat. Im the girl who ordered iceed coffee in the blizzard. lol

I havent been getting outside so I havent been getting dressed in outside clothes or walking more than around the house so today Im gonna get dressed and go to stop and shop [I have a driver] and make a lap around my yard.

I had this too when I was early post op.  It goes hand in hand with the 'starvation' mode that your body is going through.
And then when you lose a good chunk of weight you will be cold all of the time.
I live in Wisconsin and in my fat days never wore a coat during the winter unless it was below zero.  Now I wear a coat at my desk all day at work and to bed at night.

haha Liz, I so know what you are talking about.  I was always on fire before. I mean buring up all the time. No I freeze all the time. I just keep putting on more socks.

So glad you feel like going out and  walking.

Your cold because your body isn't getting enough calories to "waste" on keeping your extremeties warm. Your body is like "whoa..where's the fuel??"
I was cold on day 2.
It's 3 years later and I'm still cold. There are sweaters in your future.

Ditto what Deb said.

It does make the hot flashes more interesting, I will say that!

The blood thinner**** me hard right after surgery.. and yes, I was freezing. Then after about 3 weeks, I was toasty again, and now that I am down 90 pounds... I am a sweater girl!! I keep a sweater at the office, I have throws on the sofa to cuddle with, and toasty slippers on the Christmas list.

It could also have to do with the anesthesia you were given.  Not sure though.

I have not had surgery yet.  On pre-op two week protein liquid diet.

I am usually burning up but I have been COLD.  Can't imagine what it will be like after surgery.

I don't want to be freezing but I am looking forward to being able to wear a long sleeved shirt, sweaters and maybe a jacket with an outfit on occassion.

Glad to know its not just me cold all the time now.  I never use to be cold and always kept the air conditioning on 69 or 70 at night to go to sleep so I would not sweat so much,  not anymore!
