Update
Yesterday I had my On-Q pain buster removed. Those "threads are not like threads. Theyre more like angel hair spaghetti. It felt weird coming out but was NOT painful at all. The nurse also took my incision dressing off (I had open RNY) and cleaned the incision. I have a tiny bit of infection with no drainage. She thinks its from moisture (sweat) and said just to keep it clean and dry.
She reminded me to start my chewable calcium citrate tomorrow and to stay hydrated with 64 + oz. of fluid and gave me a cute purple water bottle with the hospital name on it and about a dozen of those drink packets you put in water bottles.
Ive been using the packets since a couple weeks before surgery in hopes to break my addiction to Coca-Cola. My favorite so far is sugar free Hawiian Punch - Berry Blue Typhoon. and 2nd fav is also Hawiian Punch - Lemon Berry Squeeze. These are right next to the crystal light etc. drink packets in the grocery store. Lemme just say.. YUM!! These do not taste sugar free
I throw a few in my purse and grab at least 2 bottles of water if Im leaving the house. Amazing, how much money Im saving on not stopping and buying drinks from the convenience store.
That night my Mom wanted to know if I wanted to get out of the house and do some Christmas shopping with her. I was a little hesitant as Im not much of a store person, it was just a few days before Christmas and it would be my first outing after surgery (11/16). So.. I went.. I walked a good amount and bought myself a present (kinda, lol). Side story I had'nt had a BM in 7 day's. So I bought suppositories. We were on our 2nd store and I was drinking my blue juice and all of a sudden I had a gurgle and knew what was happening. We cashed out and headed home. I used a suppository to make is as easy as possible because I knew it was comming but I didnt know how difficult it was gonna be because I have been on Percocent for 7 days. Those ALWAYS constipate me .
Suprisingly everything was easy-peasy. I think the walking and the fluid woke my intestines/bowels up and the suppository got things started. HAHA I've never written in such detail about my BM's.
So in closing I have the answer you've all probably been wondering about. The answer in 19!
19 lbs. in 7 days. Im more excited to know what the inches are but Im waiting a little longer for the surgery puffiness to go down. Oh yea, I bought CVS brand gas x chewables too. Those help alot.
Ok Im off to try to wear jeans for the first time since surgery. Wish me luck!
Keep up the good work!
