I have been drinking (pre op) body fortress chocolate peanut butter and myoflex strawberry and I LOVE THEM! Why is there so many people that say the shakes are nasty? My dad said it might be becasue they drink them so often they get tired of them? I dont know? But I love them. Ive only been drinking them 2 days however. When your so hungry I guess it tastes good to have something in my mouth.

I too drink body fortress shakes.  Not pb but choc and strw make according to Nik's directions at bariatricfoodie.com and I too love them.  Don't understand either but as long as they are going down I'm good.
nice to see your post expressing what I've felt for quite awhile.
Congrats on your surgery.  be sure and check out the website I mentioned.  another good one is worldaccordingtoeggface.com

One of the things that is different is that the Myoflex you are drinking is higher in carbs (and somehwat higher in calories) than what they usually suggest after RNY.  I am not familiar with the Body Fortress, so I cannot comment on that one.

Also, many times people's tastes change after surgery and they cannot stand the taste, texture, and/ or smell of protein drinks that they tried and liked before surgery.

My favorite is Premier Protein (get at Sam's or Costco). They're 11 oz and have 160 cal, 3g fat, 1g sugar, 30g protein.  I drink 2 of them a day for 60g of protein (my surgeon/nut recommends 75-100g of protein a day post-op).

The only problem with these is that they only seem to come in chocolate or vanilla..and I don't really like the vanilla. :)  Luckily, I haven't gotten tired of them yet!

I do like chocolate peanut butter, though, so I may have to try the body fortress ones.  Where do you get them?

Thanks!

I added some brown sugar cinnamon sugar free syup to a Vanilla Atkins shake the other day and it was really good.

May some of the other flavors to the vanilla might be good. I have tried any others yet though.

The mocha latte from Atkins has none of the aftertaste the others have.  It is really good to me.

Course your tastes might be different from mine.

Add stuff to the vanilla to change the taste.  A spoonful of instant decaf coffee, or some sugar free syrup, or belend it up with a handful of frozen berries and half a banana.

I'm glad you're liking what you are having. I know for me, I really need a whey isolate because I don't do well with lactose (preop, so i'm not sure that will improve post op), I like the shakes I was using though and so far I still like them now!

I LOVE Body Fortress as well.  I haven't tried the PB Choc., but do drink the choc.  I add 1 banana and some cinnamon with some ice and put in blender...YUUUUMMMMMM!!!!!  I do have to agree with whomever said taste change after surgery.  I cannot handle Atkins, Slimfast or Boost.  They are too sweet for me.  Good luck with your surger.  The websites for the recipes mention in an earlier reply are wonderful places to go:)
