Every Surgeon is Different

Not really.

You can learn a ton at wlsvitagarten.com and I can vouch for its reliability but no, it doesn't hold the prestige or whatever that the ASMBS does.

There is the Mayo Clinic and Web MD, which are very reliable sites, and easy to read, but not much there about WLS.

I suggest ALL RNY patients read the ASMBS nutritional info at nutrition.otago.ac.nz/__data/assets/file/0005/4784/Bariatric NutritionReading.pdf

I also like the Linus Pauling Institute for vitamin and mineral info.

One more thought.  You can just start asking where info comes from.  If someone tells you that you need calcium citrate OR that carbonate is as good as citrate, ask them where that info is coming from.  Did the nurse at the hospital say so?  Their dentist?  Their sister in law?  The ASMBS guidelines?  An article in a medical journal?  A study done at a reputable university?  Ask to see the article or read the study.

Generally, people that have a source for their info are happy to share their source.  If they can't back it up, that doesn't mean it's not true, but I would rely more on info that comes from a reliable source and you can see the info for yourself.
