I keep thinking of today as my last fat day--it gives me courage! Tonight I will make up a schedule of when to take supplements, how many etc. for when I get home. Also making a grocery list for my husband to take care of while I'm in the hospital so that I will have fresh bananas to make smoothies. I bought a magic bullet yesterday to make them. I will pack my little bag that I will take with me tomorrow morning. Am I forgetting anything? NERVOUS!!

You will be fine!  Deep breath.  It's good you have a plan.  I will caution you on having your hubby get groceries.  Don't get too much of anything.  Your tastes will most likely change and there will be some things you used to like that you don't right after surgery.  Your tastes for them might come back later on but the first few weeks are very interesting as to what tastes good and what doesn't.  And since you really aren't that keen on eating you need to have stuff you like.

Also bananas.  They have a lot of sugar in them and the more ripe they get the more sugar they have.  Be careful using those in your smoothies...probably start with half...until you are sure the sugar isn't going to make you sick.  At just over a year out I can have half of a banana and if it's too ripe I will feel my heart rate increase which is my first signal that I might dump if I have more.

Take care!

Good luck to you!  If I were you I'd be careful about buying groceries!  Your tastes will change!  I know that sounds weird, but it's true.  By things in small amounts at first and try them.  If you like them, get more, and if not, you're not wasting money.  Be careful with fruit in your protein shakes.  In my liquid stage, I wasn't allowed to have it.  Fruits have quite a bit of sugar, even though it may be natural, it's not good just starting out.  Your stomach will be really sensitive!  Sending good surgery vibes your way!

Thanks! My surgeon isn't having me go through the liquids phase--he said I'll come home on pureed foods and I've been worried about what to eat. I don't like beans at all, so I'm trying to think of things that I should have on hand. I do have protein shakes, applesauce and that's about it. Just not sure what to eat at first and it's worrying me.

Carbmaster Yogurt from Kroger - 8 g protein.  SF FF pudding with a scoop of protein powder - 5-7g protein per serving.  Greek Yogurt - not sure, haven't gotten to that point yet. Could still drink a protein shake if having trouble gettin enough protein.

Good luck with everything tomorrow.  I hope your surgery goes perfectly.  I did best with cottage cheese, carb master yogurt, eggs and chicken broth with unjury the first few days. Then, I did chicken salad, tuna salad and soups.
