NSV Round Up and Does Anyone Juice??
It's been a while since I've been on, and after about 45 mintues of catching up on my posts, I realized I haven't shared my NSVs with you guys lately. I LOVE reading about other people's victories and don't mind sharing some too! So, let's see.... I now can:
- Cross my legs
- Fly without an extender
- Sit in a patio chair comfortably... and with a coat!
- Wear a skirt without truly hating it
- Snuggle in front of my honey on the couch
- Wear a necklace that was always closer to a bracelet for me!
- And best of yet, I bought my FIRST two piece swim suit! It's a tankini, but it counts. And it's 10 sizes smaller than I was when I started this journey!
Now, another quick question - My chiro is very all-natural health conscious kind of guy and swears by juicing. Obviously as a post op, this would only supplement my diet and I'd keep an eye on natural sugars and carbs, but does anyone do it? Do you like it?
Thanks!

I juiced a lot before surgery and loved it. I can't wait until I'm further out to try juicing veggies again.

Congrats on your successes, it's amazing the things that make this journey special for each of us.
My biggest concern with juicing, is the liquid calories. It's so easy to shoot the calorie count for the day with juice. Since with bypass it just flows right through and would leave us hungry rather quickly. Also with the reduced size of our pouches we get limited fiber as it is, and to take away what we might get from the whole fruit/veg.

My daughter has been juicing alot lately. I tend to stick to the green juices, light on the carrots. Carrots just have too much sugar and I don't want to dump. Juicing is not a replacement for meals but it is a good way to get micronutrients, especially since I don't eat a lot of veggies now.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
I bought a horse and RODE him... and he didn't collapse! And I fit in a smaller saddle! I got on without a mounting block, I just put my foot in the stirrup and climbed on board. WOOO HOOO
Then this morning I cut about 5 minutes off my 5k time by jogging a total of 9min 18 seconds of the race. It was SO cool because the group sponsoring this race called out my name as I went through and everyone was cheering like I was 1st place in the half marathon instead of dragging behind on the 5k.
good stuff!

Thanks to you all for your feedback about the juicing, and GOOD JOB on your own NSVS! I'm not quite at the jogging/horse riding level yet
Bettisima, good point about liquid veg vs whole veg in our pouches. I was excited about the increased veggie count, but if it doesn't stick around long enough to really do anything, then it's not worth the $100 juicer I bet!
