Hi I am doing my 2 week pre op diet  and I am really having a hard time with it  I am so hungry!!!
BUT I will get through it!!!

What I really am having a hard time with is believing that  after the surgery  1/4 cup of food will satisfy me.     Did or does anyone else  have trouble with this image?

It will, it is hard to imagine before surgery after you will be amazed how little it takes to be satisfied.

Best wishes on your surgery.

!/4 cup of food will satisfy you. I had my surgery 10-24 and now my Dr. says I can eeat anything now. My appitite is still very small. The protein fills me up. You will do fine and good luck.

I'm in the same boat, I'm having RNY on Jan. 24th and am on day 5 of my liquid diet. I'm doing OK and teh hunger is finally gone (my stomach growled nonstop for the first 4 days!) but I'm finding it hard to stick to it because I'm bored with sugar free jello and soup. I want popcorn so bad it hurts. I'm dying for a big plate of crunchy iceberg lettuce with some shredded cheddar and french dressing. I actually got depressed last night about the fact my pouch may not let me eat a big salad after my surgery! I want to be thin and have the surgery but how messed up is it that I'm afraid of missing having a big salad?

I'm sticking to the diet and going forward but I just had to get that out. I'm excited about losing weight quickly and being compliant but like you I am worried about not being full on 1/4 cup of food, and sometimes I'm afraid of being full on that amount because having a big bowl of popcorn or a big salad is not gonna happen.

Hang in there and I hope you do well with your surgery. I don't know what i'd do without this forum, it's so helpful to hear other people are feeling the same as me and others have been there and have useful advice.

RNY on 01/23/12
I am on day 13 of my shakes only pre op diet-surgery is Monday-and it has been  so tough at times.  I have had dill pickles a few times because I couldnt deal with the cravings.  I know I will get thru this too.  I have a very hard time imagining that a little bit will be enough after surgery also.

You think it will never end, don't look at how many days you have left, just do one day at a time...before you know it, it will be surgery day and then do the same after it. Do what your suppossed to one day at a time, it worked for me that way.
