Stool Issue

Over the pass 5 days I have noticed a jelly like substance in my stool.  I don't know if it is fat or what it is.  I did email my neutritionist and am waiting for a reply.  Has anyone experienced this?

I do on occasion. I have always assumed it is malapsorbed fat as well. When i just looked it up, it can be caused by a variety of things like changes in diet (seems to make sense for after RNY), excess amounts of carbs, expelled mucus normally produced in the large intestine, or infection. Per Mayo Clinic, a small amount is not a concern. I'd keep an eye on it and discuss with your doctor if it continues.

O-K I have a question regarding a stool issue. Mine has changed color since I had surgery. It is a pale gray yellow. Has been since the first bm after surgery. Does it have something to do with the digestive juices being up higher that my bypass? I keep forgeting when I am at the surgeon's office.

The lighter colored stool can be attributed to the mostly protein diet early out post op. The color will return to "normal" once you start introducing more veggies back into your diet - especially when you get back to leafy greens!

Thank you very much.  Have a wonderful day.
Wrinkled was not one of the things I wanted to be when I got older.
