Some advice on taking Vits, Please

Ok, so I made a resolution that taking my vitamins very seriously was going to be my mission this year.  I have taken them, don't get me wrong, but I miss one now and then and I didn't really check if I was taking the right ones, like for example I have been taking Calcium carbinate all this time!

So here is what I take and when, is this ok?  Is it enough?  Is there anything I should add or take out?

In the morning:
First I take my anti-depressant (liquid form)
Muli vitamin ( a really good one )
1000mg dry D3
B-complext
1000 mg Calcium citrate wafer
500 mg sublingual B12
Sometimes I take chewable C, but not everyday. maybe 3 times a week

Lunch,
1000mg of both D3 and Calcium Citrate, again

Before bed
Multi Vit
Iron

Is this going to work?

I think you should take your second multi and more calcium/d at dinner time. Then take c and iron right before bed. I don't allow myself to eat until I've taken my vitamins. Works for me.

Why take the muti and Calcium with dinner?  Why take the C at night with the iron?

You need more than 2 doses of calcium. Plus if your multi has calcium, it can affect the absorption of the iron. You cannot take iron with calcium or milk products.

Taking C with iron increases absorption.

You need to take your iron with your vit c daily for absorption and away from calcium. Also more then 500 of calcium and it is wasted as we only absorb 500 at a time. At least that is what I have been told.Sure Kelly will see this and let you know for sure.

My nutritionist and surgeon told me NOT to take the calcium with the multi.  This is the schedule they gave me:
Breakfast - COMPLETE multi vitamin
2hrs later Snack - calcium citrate  plus vit d and a B12
2hrs later Lunch - COMPLETE multi vitamin
2hrs later - calcium citrate plus vit d
2 hrs later Dinner - calcim citrate plus vit d
if taking aditional Iron, take it 2 hrs after the calcium

the Iron in the multi vitamins effects the absorption of the calcium, so never take them together.  You need 1500-2000 mg per day of calcium.

No, iron does NOT affect the absorption of calcium.  It is calcium that affects the absorption of iron.
