OMG Poo everywhere!

10 days post op today.

OK so it's very possible this is all my fault, but the most horrifying thing happened! I was just sitting on the couch sipping on vitamin water when I felt a little rumble in the vicinity of my belly button. I got up to go to the bathroom, and suddenly poo came spraying out of me everywhere! Oh NO! Thank God I'm home alone. So I got everything cleaned up (thank goodness for hardwood floors) and took a shower, and now it's time to evaluate.
Yesterday I had a protein shake for breakfast, homemade gazpacho for lunch, a little tomato bisque for a snack, and then, horrors, a bit of stew meat, cooked carrot and broth for dinner. For snack I had sugar free choco pudding. I'm also taking sudafed and nosespray for my cold. I only have bariatric health multivitamin for a supplement, per the doctor.
Do you think I blew it with the stew meat? The nosespray? The gazpacho? Is this normal? I don't want this to happen again!
Please help!!!

Could just be your system getting back to normal. Or any of the other things.  If it doesn't continue to happen, I'd just write it off at this point!  Good luck.

Bet you a buck it was the pudding. I became lactose intolerant after surgery and milk products like pudding will cause me to do exactly what you described. Not fun.

I have had one episode like that and I was maybe a week or so out. I figured it was my body getting rid of all that junk that was put in me. I have had no problems since! Good luck....

If the sugar free pudding was the pre-made kind they sell in the refigerator section of the grocery store, then that could be the culprit.  Those usually have sugar alcohols in them, which can cause diarrhea.

I'm allowed to have sugar free pudding for the first two weeks after surgery. What kind do you recommend if those are bad?

Seems like a lot of food for only ten days post op to me. But i'm your your doctor said it was ok or you would not be eating it.

I was strickly on protein shakes and water for two weeks. I still don't think I could eat that much food. LOL.

Hopefully it was a one time thing for you.

Hope your day gets MUCH better

Blessings

Portions were quite small, no more than 1/4 cup to just a few tablespoons. Still, i'm cutting it down tody just in case.
