I am off to Walt Disney World tomorrow.  Any suggestions on what to eat while I am there?

Any luck using your card to get chlld prices on buffet meals?

They do NOT give any discounts at Disneyworld on the buffets.  That is why we only did 1 breakfast buffet while there in October because I knew at breakfast time I can eat a decent amount and not feel too bad about wasting money.

There are a bunch of great counter service places to eat.  Cosmic Rays at Magic Kingdom has a huge chicken/rib platter.  The chicken was really moist.  I think it is rotissere.  Also at MK there is Columiba Harbor House.  Great tuna sandwich.  It is HUGE and splitable between 2-3 people.

I can give a ton more suggestions if you need them.

I have no issues with food including sugar so I pretty much ate what I wanted and had a bite of everyone's sweet treats.  Can't do more than a bite though.

Bring a refillable water bottle and get free ice water from any counter service place.  Add your crystal light.  FL water smells. Some don't like the taste.

Have fun.  I return in 32 days.

I second sharing meals.  Both times I went was before weight loss surgery.  My husband and I ended up sharing everything and still had food left over.  We could easily feed the five of us on two meals.

Great advice!  I am going 10/12 and am already looking at menus!  It does look like there are many great choices.

Oh.... so jealous!  It's been too long since my last Disney fix!

I never tried to get a discount on the buffets.   We tend to not eat at many buffets anyway, with the exception of Boma in the Animal Kingdom Lodge - yummy!

In the parks, besides the places mentioned above, there are good (reasonably) healthy options for us available at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot and Flame Tree BBQ in Animal Kingdom.  Also, if you're not totally grossed out by them (I used to be, but now love them), grab one of the giant smoked turkey legs.  They're yummy!

Most of the Disney restaurants have been making a switch to healthier food, so you should be able to find good options most everywhere.  Have a great time!

Most of the sit down restaurants also have a great selection of appetizers that you can order instead of a full meal.

We have the quick service dining plan, so I have made a list of all the quick service restaurants that offer more than hamburgers.  We will indeed probably split meals because the portions are just HUGE.

We are paying out of pocket for 1900 Park Fare because the wicked stepmother and ugly stepsisters are hilarious.  It just kills me to pay $59.99 for a buffet that I can only eat a few bites of.

Anyway, I will have to justify in my head that I am paying more for entertainment than the food.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

At MK then plan on cosmic rays chicken and the tuna sandwich at columbia harbor house.

At Hollywood Studios they have a food court area down by tower of terror.  a few good choices down there.  I ordered the chili dog for 2 of my kids with the chili on the side and at both of their sides as my meal.  They don't like chili.

Epcot has a bunch of wonderful places to eat around the world.

You can go on allearsnet.com and look under dining and they have the menus listed for each restaurant on property so you can get a good idea.

We are eating at Cinderella's Royal Table for my mom's birthday on 2/29.  She is buying. :)

I love 1900 Park Fare too.  Ate there preop though.
