I am on my pre surgery diet (2/20) and I am getting nauseous and upset stomach drinking my protein shakes. I am supposed to have 2 a day, then a low carb dinner. I am having trouble getting one down. I can't get out of the bathroom. Anyone have any thoughts?

Are you mixing them with milk?  Try mixing them with water.

Try a different brand.

Do you know what about it is upseting your stomach?  Is it the taste, the smell, or something else?

I am having them with milk, though I have never had a problem with milk before. I will try water.
I like the taste, smell and everything about them. Today and last night are the first time I have not felt good. I don't even know if its from the drink or not, I might just have a stomach bug.
Thanks!

If you dont typically drink much milk, maybe try the lactose free milk. Even though some people think they dont have much of an issue with it drinking a couple glasses every day for a couple weeks can upset your stomach.

If you don't like the way your shakes taste with water (and that helps the nausea) try mixing them with soy milk or rice milk.

I can't mix my protein pwd with water, the taste and consistency is just gross to me. But mixing it with even 1% milk had me constantly . But, soy milk has solved my problem!

I will try the soy. That's a good idea.
Thanks

Can you change brands, or do you have to drink a doctor prescribed pre-mix.  My shake is a pre-mix.  There is only one brand and one flavor within that brand I can drink.  All other brands I tried made me nauseous too.

I had and still have problems drinking a lot of milk at a time. I use water with protein shakes and it does a lot better.

You might also try making them with unsweetened almond milk.  I keep that, and unsweetened soy milk on hand - they both come in handy for mixing protein shakes or adding into other beverages.  I also dissolve protein in them while cold, and slowly mix them into hot beverages to boost the protein in them when I can.
