Thinking about Spin?

For anyone who has thought about or is thinking about doing spin class but feels they are still to big.

I attended a new spin class this past Saturday after a 2 mile swim.  I wasn't sure what to expect as I had never been to a class with this leader.  Well front row were 2 guys that were easily 3 bills and were regulars to this class!  This wasn't an easy class either lots of standing in the pedals and hill work.  Yes it was a total blast and I am going to work it into my schedule. But it just shows you that if you can suck up a bit of pride you can accomplish anything.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I love living in the country, but it is times like this wanting to get to a gym that I just hate being an hour and a half. That is just so far to go for me. So I just have to walk at the house. Told my husband the other day that we needed to start investing in some exercise equipment.

Funny you posted this, Paul.

Last January I tried a spin class. I was easily the biggest person in the room. I couldn't stand up, or do the climbs, or anything else for that matter.

There's a really popular spin class at the gym I am a member of. I'm signed up for Wednesday night, but I was on the waiting list for yesterday's class. I got to drop in. It was tough, but I was able to keep up for the most part.

TOUGH work out. But I felt great when I left.

I love spin class! I have been doing it twice a week for 2 years now. I weighed between 340-370ish during those 2 years. The cool thing is you can go at your own pace. I have noticed since I've lost weight that I am definitely working harder.

My fitness trainer teaches a spin class and she has been kind of angling to get me in it. She has me do warm ups and some intervals on it then tells me I should come to the class. I tell her there is a big difference in doing 4 minutes of intervals and a whole 45 min class!
I did ask her the first time if the pedals would hold me standing up on them with all of my weight... I was about 235 at the time. The mind games we have a "big" people
