Tolerance Changes??

I will be 6mths out on Feb 16.  Since about the 4mth mark I have been eating Quest protein bars, the originals. I ordered some of the others but they messed with me, I guess the sugar alcohols?
Anyway... I don't eat them all the time, maybe  3-4 a month.  Last night I had one of my favorites - the mixed berry -  and I felt absolutely wretched! The same way I felt when I ate "lower sugar" fruity instant oatmeal or 2 cookies.

Would my tolerance change almost 6mths out? It was only 2g of sugar (sucralose)?

Everyone is different of course, but for me, I find that even at 2 years out I can eat something and be fine one time or several times and then I can eat the exact same thing that has never bothered me before and have a  bad reaction. And then I eat it another time and it's fine again! Why does this happen?! I don't know- grouchy pouch day? hormonal effects? something you ate earlier in the day? It's a mystery.  ;)

I'd bet that you'll be fine next time you eat one- maybe just try a half of the bar and see how it "sits" if you want to play it safe.

Tolerance can change quite a bit over time but usually in the opposite way- things you don't tolerate now you may well be able to eat down the road. We're all different and we all have different experiences but it helps alot to see where others have been before you and what those experiences have been. That's why I have loved OH and the people here ever since I found this site and began my surgery research!

Good luck on your journey!

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference...

I didn't react to sugar until I was over a year out.  Now I have heart racing and feel sick, I guess a mini dump if I eat too much.  Actually, kind of glad I have a reminder that I don't need to be eating that junk anyway.  Don't know exactly how much it takes but I know a 4 oz regular fruit yogurt and a piece of nut bread is too much.

thanks for the input!
This was just like how I felt eating cookies (2).... like a vacuum had been hooked to my spine - just exhausted and kind of sick feeling. I am very ok with more negative consequences but I would sure like to have a better idea on when to expect them!
