Well it has been a touch few months.  Unfortunately, I have fell off the wagon and have gained 8 lbs of the 40 lbs I have lost pre-op.  It is so hard to get back on the wagon after being off the wagon for so long but it is what I have to do or I will gain all my weight back.  That is my bad news.

As some of you know I have been in the appeal stage of my process.  I got a call back from the surgeon today and my insurance has approving my surgery.  Unfortunately, I started school in January for my RN.  Hopefully spring break will be long enough to take off to get this surgery done.  I only go to school two days a week, so it shouldn't be too bad.  I will be taking 2-4 weeks off from work so hopefully things will go well.

How long did it take before you could go back to work full time?  I am a nurse at a family clinic and don't do any heavy lifting or strenuous activity.  My job is pretty sedentary thank god.

I was off 2 weeks and started school part time the week after surgery.  I have been pretty tired but it is doable.  Not easy, but doable.

I am a social worker that requires working at my desk, traveling to clients' homes, etc.  I had surgery on a Friday and felt fine to go back to work the following Wednesday.  I did take the remainder of that week off, though.  I was off work for a total of ten days and went back full time after that.

Congrats on your pre op weight loss, and don't worry about loosing the 8lbs you will do it again. I felt like I could of have went back to work after 2 weeks, but I stayed out for 4 weeks! After 1 week I was exercising and running around as if I did not have surgery, and my energy level was up and I never felt drained at all! Good luck!
