I think potential patients would be lucky to have you evaluate them. Afterall, you have the "inside" scoop(besides the knowledge) and know what's needed to live this lifestyle. Good luck!

You will be great  - good luck, I hope it works out for you.  I know the psych I went to for my preop psych eval was a joke.  She basically just asked me questions so she could write the letter - they were almost all yes or no questions, no elaborations.  I asked if I was cleared and she said do something like, well do you think I shouldnt clear you?

 Unfortunately, a lot of people seemed to have similar experiences.  Mine was not quite so bad, but he did not even ask about any suicide attempts or suicidal ideation (and our altered anatomy makes a completed suicide by ingestion much more likely), did not even bother to ask what I do for a living (not a big deal in most cases, but if he had known I was in the mental health field, he would have known that I could EASILY have been giving him the answers that I knew he was looking for), or about family support for my surgery, etc.
