Losing weight before surgery
I have surgery scheduled for the same day as you! I have to lose about 15 lbs by then..I have already lost 10 by doing the lean and green diet..low carbs, low fat, high protein. This week I am trying the medifast diet..a shake for bfast, one for lunch and a lean green meal. But to be honest, I have the meal I cook for my family. And its been working well. Lost 2 more lbs. Good Luck to you..

I lost 12lbs in the last two weeks, because when I registered for my surgery, I was 232. I had blown up to 244 in the 9-10 months it took between registration and my actual surgery date, and they told me I needed to be back where I started or risk my surgery getting canceled.
I basically put myself in a post-bariatric mind frame. I limited myself to 700-900 calories a day. (700 if I was sedentary, 900 if I worked out) I went to the gym regularly for deep water aerobics, started going to bed several hours earlier (I would typically be up until 2 or 3am, so I set myself a strict 11:00 bedtime), started taking my vitamins, and water, water, water. I drank more water than I thought physically possible. I was going through 24-packs of 16oz bottles in 2 days.
Between flushing out my retained water, getting more sleep, exercise, and a strictly monitored high protein, low carb diet, I've managed to lose what I needed to lose and am set for surgery on Wednesday.
It took a lot of discipline, a lot of prioritizing, and a LOT of willpower and soul searching to be able to cut out the temptations and refined carbs for the last week of my "normal life". But it had to be done if I have any hope of getting an ACTUAL normal life in the future.
Best of luck to you!
