My dietician says I can have things like that 6 weeks after surgery.

Week 0 - 2: Liquids only (milk, water, protein shake, broth, sugar free/fat free jello and pudding)
Week 2 -4: Semi solid food (eggs, cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt (take the fruit out), refried beans)
Week 4 - 6: Solid food within reason (any food that can be mashed easily with a fork like salmon, chicken, etc.  Toasted wheat bread is ok too ^^)
Week 6+ : Normal food, just chew it up to applesauce consistancy.

Follow your plan, but when you can have them go slowly.  For me the texture in pickles and olives was very diffiuclt for my pouch.  I had to over chew in order to have those, and I only ate small amounts.  Now at 27 it is not an issue, but I still have to make sure I chew well.

I had olives in the pureed stage...pickles when I moved to solids. The thing for me was to watch my protions since I always overate on pickles. Just go slowly, measure/weigh, and follow the plan your doctor gave you. Good luck.
