I just wanted to share that I have found the best protein drink ever and wanted to share with everyone that was having trouble with all the ones that were milky and thick. It is Isopure Blue Rasberry and is 40 grams of protein per bottle. It has splenda in it and no aftertaste. It is sold at GNC.

Hopes this might help someone who was struggling like me with finding one that they didn't gag on.

I'm glad that you found something you like.  I absolutely hated those, it left a weird coating on my tongue.  That was right after surgery though, now 8 mo's later, I may go get one at the Vitamin Shoppe (if you have one they sell them by the bottle so you don't have to buy a whole pack) and try one out again to see if it's changed.

 Lies!  LIES!

*giggles*

I kid.  I lived on those.  As much as I couldn't really stand them, I lived on them.

I prefer Isopure PLUS now.  They're much more palatable.

Isopure Plus only has 15 g protein, doesn't it?

Since Isopure has 40 g protein, do you all use it as a meal replacement? I'm pre-op and would like to try it as a meal replacement when I am working out of town next month.

Most of us take in too much protein.  40 G is a lot -- and the daily requirement for many of us is sometimes only 50 G.

It's sometimes hard to get it all in... is all.

I haven't used it as a meal replacement since I am pre-op also. My surgery is scheduled 03/15, but this is the only on i liked and they have different flavors. I dn't taste a metallic after taste as some say, but others might. You might just have to try it or not.  It works for me and is what I am going to use after surgery.

Good luck to you.

Thank you! By the way, I read on the Isopure website to stop drinking it 2 weeks prior to surgery, just FYI.

I gotta say, I think it has a metallic aftertaste.  I can tolerate it, but I find an aftertaste.

It's funny how everyone's tastes differ...I HATED those! They left a funky, slimy coating on my tongue. Your tastes may change after surgery. Mine did. And many people say the same thing. What you like pre-surgery, you may hate after surgery. So I recommend to not stock up on any protein drinks/powders before surgery. Just my opinion.
