I will be a year out in April and I have lost 134 but for the last 2-3 weeks everytime I stand up I get dizzy and feel like I am going to black out. I went to my PCP and she order a whole bunch of test. She ordered a tilt table test to see if I had orthostatic hypotension....the heart dr that sat in on it said I didn't. My blood test have not came back yet. But my question is does anyone else have this problem .... I am sure its because I am "lacking" in some vitamin (atleast thats my guess)??? But this is driving me crazy.... Any help or advice would be wonderful... Please and thank you!

I'm assuming that your doc has already ruled out low blood pressure and dehydration, both of which can cause that. Maybe your blood work will show you are too low somewhere. Another thought is vertigo- I suddenly had an episode several years ago (before WLS) and it has basically stuck around since then. I have learned to get up slowly, turn to the left slowly, and even careful when I tilt my head backwards to look at something. All of those movements can make me dizzy and like I'm going to pass out. A mild reaction goes away quickly, a bad one can last hours and make me extremely nauseated. The bad ones are rare, thank God. My point is that vertigo can come on unexpectedly, especially if you have had a cold or sinus problems. It's related to the inner ear that controls your sense of balance and the bodies balance cues are skewed. No real way to fix it for most people. This may have absolutely nothing to do with your symptoms but I did want to throw it out there just in case it would help you. Sorry you are dealing with this and hope it gets better soon!

Take care,
Rhonda

I am almost two years out and have the same thing happen often.  I think it is lack of hydration for me.  I had all my blood test done a few weeks ago and all was good.  If I drink what I am supposed to it doesn't happen as often.

Be careful.  I have passed out before and hit my head ( that was over a year ago).
Now when I feel it I immediately sit where ever I am (usually on the floor:)
Good luck.

Have you checked your blood sugar?  Some post ops get reactive hypoglycemia after surgery, where the blood sugar gets very low after eating things with lots of sugar or carbs.
Get a monitor and test your blood during one of these episodes and if it is low, I think under 75, then that is probably what it is.  You can try a high protein snack and see if that helps.
