Black soap will help with the itching. Black soap by Kiss My Face or Shea Moisture. You can find Shea Moisture at Walgreens and Kiss My Face products at Vitamin Shoppe. I would get some organic coconut oil for your lips, skin, and hair. You can find organic coconut oil in grocery stores where the cooking oils are, alittle goes a long way. I haven't had surgery yet but suffer from eczema and that black soap has changed my life. Then I moisterize with the organic coconut oil, it has done wonders for my skin. Just thought I would share.

I didn't investigate too much the cause; my Dr was not concerned and at my 3 week post op appointment the clinic was not overly concerned. Our system is in shock for so many reasons.
Skin is an organ, so it's reacting too.
Is it the anesthetic? the change in intake of fluids/solids/nutritional content? Is it a mixed bag of reasons? I'd think it's hard to pin point the exact cause.
I didn't have a rash, just very dry itchy skin.
I also used Aveeno itch cream on some spots that I was scratching way too hard.
