I had a stricture at 5 weeks out and it was a pain they ended up putting me in the hosp for being deyhraded.. and I had to wait the whole weekend before they did the EGD but I am telling you once they do it you are like 100% better.. It is not bad as you think it is... I had to have it done again two weeks later cause they didnt want to stretch it too much all at once.. But It was a peice of cake..

I still have a stricture :(   I was admitted to the hospital @ Christmas time beause I couldn't even drink water, it go so bad that I couldn't even swallow my own saliva.  The opening was on 2 mm, they could barely fit the balloon down.  I have been dilated twice since then and have to go for another on 3/15.  The EGD and dilation is very easy, they put you to sleep and it is outpt.  Good luck to you.

I've had 3 of those and they do help. It can be very frustrating but all of these things will work themselves out. Keep your eyes on the prize and don't be afraid to call your doctor's office if you have any questions. God knows I was on the phone with the PA 2 or 3 times a week just to help me get through those first couple of months. Hang in there!
