Not Sure What To Make of It
Sent an email to my surgeon's office week before last asking when they had sent my paperwork into my insurance. Received a response last week from someone filling in for the insurance person that said I should be hearing from them soon "to get things rolling" but that there were "a couple of patients before me." If I was approved that had to be the fastest approval known to man so I'm not sure what to make of their response. I've tried calling for clarification and always get sent to someone's voice mail. Normally I hear back from them very quickly but its been over a week now and still no response. I'm afraid to get my hopes up that after ten years of research and prep work, and nearly five years of trying to get the okay from the psychologist (which I finally achieved in early February), I may actually be having surgery soon. Wouldn't it be lovely to have it before I turn 50 in June?

I turn 50 in August (yikes!) -- and have my 5-year surgery anniversary the day before my birthday -- so I think it would be EXTRA nice if you had your surgery before your birthday! Fingers crossed...
I would just make a pest of myself and keep calling and leaving messages or sending emails until they answer, LOL.

It's hard to tell what that means, but hey, keep a positive outlook. I would think if you were approved you would have heard from the surgeon or insurance, but who knows? I'm sure hoping you get an approval - I got mine the day after the doc submitted everything, so hey, you never know!!
That sure would be a nice birthday gift (just have your cake before-hand

You could always call your insurance company and ask if they've received everything they need and if a decision has been made yet.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.

Good luck with everything. Hopefully it has been handled properly and efficiently.
I'll turn 50 in November and look forward to be much closer to my goal by then.
