Can we count drinking a protien shakes as part of liquids .

Yes.  All decaffeinated drinks count toward liquids.

I say yes, but would you believe the NUT at one of my first support group meetings said no. I think it is her way of trying to get us to drink more water.

My dr said I could have 1 cup of coffee a day (absolutely no more) and it could count as part of my liquids.  He said that the diuretic effect of 1 cup of coffee was so minimal that I didn't have to worry about it.  He is more concerned with the acidity; that's why only one cup.
