Has anyone tied their tubes after their RNY?  If so were there difficulties due to scar tissue from the RNY surgery?

It is my understanding that most tube tying procedures are done through the belly button. If that is the case, I don't see why RNY scar tissue would be a factor, especially if you had laparoscopic surgery.

I could be wrong though.

Are you having your tubes tied during a cesarean, or just as a stand-alone procedure? If it's being done during birth, then no, you'll be open anyway, and all's well. I had mine done that way. (wouldn't it be great if they could do cesareans laproscopically? )

Stand-alone ligations are usually done via two small incisions in your lower abdomen, or they can go in through your navel. I don't know about you, but my RnY scars are high, around my ribcage. My lowest one is about 2" above my belly button, and your uterus is far below that.

If they don't go through your navel, your incisions should be closer to your bikini line, away from any of your RnY scars.

I didn't get my tubes tied post RNY, but I did have them done prior to RNY, and my GB removed, both laproscopic surgery, and those didn't interfere with teh RNY. I also had an ovarian cyst removed post RNY and that was also done laproscopically, and that was a piece of cake also, with no problems at all even though it was my fourth belly-button surgery!

There is non -surgical option fot tube tying. Called Essure. I had that done.  It is less invasive and less expensive.  Check it out.
