Extended release meds

 Please remind me we why we can't take extended release meds?  My dermatologist recommended a extended release doxycycline for my rosacia. I know that tetracycline binds to calcium in the body, which also makes it not a good idea for ray patients, so I'm already not a good position to take it.

They are designed to break down and be absorbed over 12 - 24 hours.  Our digestive system is now shorter than normal so the meds won't stay in your system that long.  Therefore, you will only absorb some of the drug, not all of it.
