I really need counseling.....
Before my revision I had two and a half years of eating slider foods and if I did eat anything solid I would make myself throw up. The band caused me to have severe delayed gastric emptying and the hard proteins and solids just would not go through. So I got very used to Hagen Das and sweets. Now post RNY I have been very afraid to start solid proteins because I don't want to have to throw up.
Well last weekend I made cookies for the kids and I ate five of them, yes...five. Not in a mad rush, but I ate them and enjoyed them and then spent the next five hours running from the fetal position on the former of my bed to the bathroom. I now know I dump. It really is a good thing for my weight loss, but my head just sucks at letting go of the sweets. I literally battle with myself in my own kitchen. Today I ate three Golden Oreos, and then was sick for four hours. It's horrible that I keep doing this to myself. My kids are 11, 8 , and 5 yrs old they are thin and athletic. They can self limit their treats (something I had no control over as a child or adult) so I feel bad not allowing the stuff in the house because I can't control myself. I need to stop doing this to myself and will discuss it with my therapist on Friday.
What a head case I am.
I think it would be OK to not have many sweets in the house for a while. Kids don't need sweets all the time. And most kids have access to sweets all the time. At school. At friends' houses. Lots of places. And, if you decide you want to give your kids a treat, you could stop at a bakery and pick up three cookies, one for each kid, and none for yourself. Or pick up three of those single serving ice cream cups at the grocery store (they even have Ben and Jerry's), or whatever. Your kids don't need to have sweets on hand all the time.

Your children might be athletic but how about fruit instead of cookies? Or when you make cookies why not make some rny protein friendly ones for yourself. That way you can still have something. It's so important to get your protein in. The protein helps control those cravings.
You can do it one small step at a time
10/18/07 RNY ( hw 305 sw 290 lw 189ish) St Joe's 08/14/14 RNY reversal to sleeve. I survived 3 leaks,4 operations and a feeding tube.
My twin daughters had bypass 6 years ago and one of them constantly ate and got sick at family dinners, we all finally told her not to come if she was going to ruin the whole family dinner by purposely getting sick , she could get sick on her own when she got home...it worked, honestly she ruined more family get together's than I care to remember
I also got used to slider food with my band but I went more the the cheesy stuff. I don't/can't have all that stuff in the house , but my children are grown , I do have snacks for the grandkids tho. I would forgo baking for the kids...they will survive.
There are a lot of recipes for high protein deserts and ice creams.
I hope you can get a handle on this and I applaud you for seeking help!! please don't take this as a slam against you at all!!!! I think we are all here for support and truth

Best wishes!!!!!

My kids are older and two of the three drive, and sometimes they'll tell me they're going "out." This is code for "we're going to get a treat, and you don't want to know about it."
If you have to bake, can you bake something you don't like? Better yet, get Grandma to bake with the kids, and keep the results at HER house. We have to make sacrifices for this to work.
