Well, My Hip pain isn't from my hip - it is my spine - OUCH
Wow, I could never get out of bed with the pain med you take. I feel for you. cant you get anything stronger? First off, you arent' getting the full benefit from oxycontin because it is long acting and that is a big part of the problem - I was told never to take it. I was put on the duragesic patch instead - it goes directly into the bloodstream and bypasses our digestive system so you don't have to worry about absorbtion. You also wear it for 72 hours so it works continually. Then if you still have pain, you get a script for pain meds - usually percocet -I have percocet 10mg/325mg which I take 2 at a time when bad or it really bad I take 4mg of dilaudid. This is why I go to pain management = a PCP usually wont give out drugs that strong. You might try to get the patch if you try to explain the malabsorbtion issue - the patch is a lifesaver. You start at 25mg and usually go up to 50mg. I have been on 100mg since my perforated colon surgery and all my kidney stone problems and havent' been able to cut bacj
I really think you should try to get something instead of the oxycontin - it is just washing out of your system and you arent getting hte benefit from it
