Ok, I've always have had a regular cycle & it was kinda heavy. Since surgery its still regular but it has gotten so much heavier. Is this normal after having the surgery? I'm usually a 7 day cycle with the first 4 days being my heaviest. I was hoping after losing some weight it would kinda slack off rather than get heavier. Just curious what others have experienced since their surgeries.

It's normal for it to get goofy after surgery.  I actually went three months without a period after surgery, which I was happy about because I ended up with pneumonia and was in the hospital and it would have been a real mess, then was very irregular for the whole first year.  Then it was back to normal.  But many people seem to have longer or heavier cycles at first.  It's the weird hormones, I think.  It should even out as time goes by.

Thanks Kelly! At least it seems to be normal. Hormones, oh how I hate them. Hopefully it starts easing up sooner rather than later.

My cycle is extremely heavy after surgery, the first 4 days are the worst! I am changing every 1.5 hours and the cramps/lower back pains are worse. I had to take a percocet just to get some sleep/relief. My doctor says it will get better. I hope/pray she is right.

I was always kinda spotty, it never came on time and was extremely light. Now I dont have a couple warning days, it comes like clockwork and starts heavy. Seems to last 4-5 days now instead of th 3 it used to.

Im a very light bleeder, pre surgery and last usually 3-4 days the most. Well about 2 weeks after surgery I got it, and it lasted about 8 days and the 5 days were very heavy with killer cramps.. Hopefully next week when I get it, its back to the old way....lol

Mine got real bad post op, I ended up having to have an ablation done to control it, alot of people never get a period after having it done, I didn't even skip a month, much lighter now, lasts 3-5 days, but can be managed with panty liners instead of super overnight pads being changed hourly.
